The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Sri Lanka police today informed the court that the computers seized from the office of the Sri Lanka Mirror news website contained pornographic material.
 
The CID has told the Colombo Magistrate's Court that pornographic material has been found in at least three computers that are in the custody of CID.
 
The CID has told court that it was a violation of the Obscene Publication Act.
 
The Colombo Magistrate's Court was informed of the findings when the case on the website was taken up for hearing today.
 
The Magistrate Prasanna de Alwis has directed the CID to carry out a special investigation into the matter and release the computers taken from the Sri Lanka Mirror office once the inquiry was completed.
 
The CID last month raided the offices of Sri Lanka Mirror and Sri Lanka X news, the opposition United National Party's web site and arrested the employees including the journalists.
