A senior CID official has told the media that the Police Cyber Crime Division would investigate into the accounts that claim the existence of "Grease Yakas" on Facebook.

The Sri Lanka Police have said the Police Cyber Crime Division under the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has been assigned the task of probing the "Grease Yakas" on social networking sites.
 
A senior CID official has told the media that the Police Cyber Crime Division would investigate into the accounts that claim the existence of "Grease Yakas" on Facebook.
 
The officer has said that while some have opened accounts under the name of "Grease Yaka" some others have put up postings on the existence of Grease Yakas.
 
According to the CID officer, the Cyber Crimes Division has already commenced the monitoring process and is to take action soon against persons posing or claiming about Grease Yakas.
 
The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Team (SLCERT) has probed into the matter and requested the public to lodge complaints to them for investigation.
